Read on, and learn the shocking history of Santa Claus and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, the true basis of the song "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer", which slightly twists the facts...

[----Reindeer-Liberation-Front----]

In days long past, there lived a man named Santa Claus, who was appointed to be the friend and guardian of the reindeer. He was a kindly old man, and all the reindeer loved him. He looked after them, never worked them too hard, and gave them presents every Christmas.

Then one day, Rudolph was born. His parents saw straight away that he was not like the other reindeer, because whereas all the other reindeer had very ordinary noses, Rudolph had a bright red, fluorescent nose which lit up the darkness at night. Santa saw this, and he began to secretly covet Rudolph's beautiful red nose. He began to dress in red, the colour of Rudolph's nose, and Rudolph was still quite young when Santa began to encourage all the other reindeer to laugh at him and call him names, and to forbid him to join in any of their reindeer games. Since reindeer love to play games and race, this was a cruel way to treat poor Rudolph. Rudolph discovered a way to turn his glowing red nose on and off at will, thinking that this would stop all his friends being so horrible to him, but it made no difference because they were all blindly obedient to Santa.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve, Santa had another evil idea. "Instead of giving presents to all my reindeer," he thought, "I shall harness them to a sleigh with Rudolph in the lead, to punish them for letting one with so bright a nose come into my care. And furthermore, I shall make them watch as I give presents to everyone else in the village, but not to them." So Santa told Rudolph, with his nose so bright, that he was to be forced to guide his sleigh that night, and thus began the great enslavement of the reindeer which was to endure for centuries.

Then all the reindeer realised that their treatment of Rudolph was wrong and that Santa, whom they had all loved, had become twisted by his constant coveting of Rudolph's nose and was now the enemy. So all the reindeer began to love Rudolph and stopped being nasty to him, and in time he proved his worth and became their leader.

Santa Claus, however, burned with a great hatred for Rudolph and his kind. His hatred was so great that he began to dabble with magic, and cast a spell on the reindeer so that they could fly. Although this seemed at first to be a blessing, Santa's real purpose soon became apparent. That Christmas Eve, he hitched the reindeer to his sleigh and forced them to drag him not just around their own small village, but around the entire world, while he gave presents to everyone in the whole world - except, that is, for his disheartened slaves, the reindeer. The people of the world, not realising that Santa's motives for giving them all these gifts were evil, began to revere Santa and leave him offerings of sherry and mince pies, but though Santa ate and drank his fill he would not give the reindeer so much as a crumb to eat or a drop to drink. However, the reindeer consoled themselves with the knowledge that even though Santa drank so much sherry, he could never succeed in making his nose as red or as bright as Rudolph's.

Thus we see that Santa Claus, who is almost universally loved by children around the world, is in fact a cruel oppressor of reindeer. His abuse of Rudolph and his kind has endured to this day, and he now employs wicked elves (he keeps the good ones in slavery, just like the reindeer) to spread Santaist propaganda across the globe and dupe people into thinking that Santa is good and not evil. The time has come for us to act!

Some years ago it was revealed to the Elders of the reindeer in a vision that Rudolph will be the one who will lead them out of captivity and the tyranny of Santa Claus, to a promised land where the lichen grows in abundance and where Santa will be forced to drag them along in a sleigh while they munch to their hearts' content. News of this was somehow sent to some sympathetic humans, and the Reindeer Liberation Front was born. The fight continues to liberate the reindeer from the control of the Great Oppressor, Santa Claus himself.
